Mature woman smiling on a couch at Revive Dental and Implant Center in Charleston West Virginia 25304-1948 At Revive Dental and Implant Center, our goal is to prevent dental problems before they occur. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. This is why we also specialize in restorative dentistry. Our restorative services are designed to improve the function and aesthetics of your smile, as well as your overall oral health.

Crowns

Crowns are a cap that our dentist places over your tooth. The crown of the tooth is the visible part that others see when you smile, so having decayed, chipped or discolored front teeth is problematic. A crown also prevents a cracked or chipped tooth from breaking more, and it provides more support for eating.

Bridges

A bridge is a dental device which anchors a new crown to replace a missing tooth. The bridge is held in place using two natural teeth or dental implants, called abutment teeth. The prosthetic tooth added to the bridge is called a pontic.

Removable Partial Dentures

Dentures are one of the most popular choices for patients who are looking for missing tooth replacement. A denture is a removable dental device, usually made of acrylic, that matches the color of your gums and holds one or more porcelain prosthetic teeth that look and function like your natural teeth.

Complete Dentures

Dentures are a device made of acrylic which holds prosthetic teeth that look and function like your natural teeth. The dentures are made to also look like natural gums. Our dentists use complete dentures when all the teeth in the lower or upper jaw are missing. Removable dentures allow the gums to take a break from wearing the appliance at night.

TMJ

The temporomandibular joint, or TMJ for short, is one of the most complex joints in the body. This complex series of ligaments, muscles, discs, and bones serve as a hinge-like mechanism that connects the upper and lower jaws. In other words, our TMJ allows us to move our lower jaw up, down, and side-to-side. Any problem that prevents the TMJ from working properly is known as a TMJ disorder or TMD.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

A full mouth rehabilitation, as the name suggests, is the process of rebuilding or replacing all or most of the teeth in the upper and lower jaws. This “catch-all” term typically refers to multiple procedures that take place over several months or even a couple of years, depending on your situation. According to the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), a full mouth rehabilitation should combine the science of restorative dentistry with cosmetic procedures to improve the function, health, and appearance of your smile.

We can help explain to you why this is, and after you come in for an appointment to talk with us, we can develop a treatment plan made specifically for you to address these unwanted gaps in your or your child’s mouth.

As you age, your teeth may undergo challenges and problems that you never had to worry about when you were younger. Worn dentition, or tooth erosion, is one of these concerns that only becomes more acute and common as you get older.
