How Long Does it Take to Get All-On-4? Charleston, WV
The All-on-4® Treatment Concept is a revolutionary method of addressing the issue of multiple missing teeth and restoring full mouth function. At Revive Dental and Implant Center we offer All-on-4 dental implants to our patients.
What Are All-On-4 Dental Implants?
Fixed dentures have their shortcomings that can cause patients to look for other procedures with higher success rates and shorter recovery periods. The All-on-4 dental implant process includes extraction, implants, and a temporary bridge fitting, all within the same day!
In this process, the dentist embeds four dental implants into the patient’s jawbone, and those implants support a full-arch restoration. The advanced technology of All-on-4 implants imitates your natural teeth in terms of their look and functionality. Through this stability, the replacement teeth offer a solid base, enabling the patient to smile and chew their food without worrying about accidentally loosening their teeth.
Step 1: Consultation by the Dentist
Your dentist will lead you through a detailed oral examination, gather a comprehensive medical and dental history, and ask for x-rays and other digital scans to identify any issues and map out the surgical plan. You will be guided about the expected outcomes and how they align with your goals. We aim to have the patient informed at each stage before undergoing any major surgery.
Step 2: Pre-Operative Treatment
During this stage, Dr. Chad Boustany will take certain measurements, including bite impressions, under or overbite, height of the gum lines, and the required ridge reduction to achieve optimal results after the procedure. We will then make molds to test the size and fitting of different materials used in the implant procedure. After the creation of these materials and components, the patient will be scheduled for All-on-4 surgery.
Step 3:The All-on-4 Dental Implant Procedure
During surgery, your dental surgeon will perform the necessary procedure to maintain the integrity of your facial structure so it remains the same after the surgery. After sedation, the first step is to extract the teeth. For ridge reduction, the upper and lower jaw will be cut along the sides and the predetermined bone size will be redacted from both arches. The rest of the bone will be prepared for dental implants.
The surgeon will mark the insertion points for the implants and drill holes, ensuring optimal stability for the implants. Next, they will insert and tighten the implants and close the incisions by replacing gum tissue around all four implants. A temporary prosthesis will be secured to the implants via mechanical fasteners.
After waiting for a three to four month time period, your dentist will check the bite pattern and bone healing before attaching the final prosthesis.
