Dental Implants Charleston, West Virginia

As prosthodontists, we here at Revive Dental and Implant Center, are happy to offer implant-supported prostheses. We believe that dental implants are the ideal solution when it comes to tooth loss. The procedure varies depending on the type of dental implants that are chosen.

Single Tooth Replacement With an Implant

If you are missing a single tooth, an implant-supported crown may be the best solution. An implant-supported crown usually consists of three components: the implant post, the abutment (support structure), and the restoration. We may recommend an implant-supported crown in place of more traditional options, such as a conventional bridge or partial denture.

Multiple Teeth Replacement With Implants

If you are missing multiple teeth, multiple implants can be used to support a larger restoration, such as a partial or complete fixed bridge. The type of restoration you receive depends on the number of missing teeth and their location. A multiple teeth restoration will improve your ability to properly chew and speak, as well as the aesthetics of your smile.

Replace All Your Teeth

All-on-4 is a revolutionary new treatment concept developed by Nobel Biocare, the industry leader in implant solutions. All-on-4 is a complete fixed bridge that, as the name suggests, only requires four implants per arch, instead of six to eight. To accomplish this, the posterior (back) implants are placed at an angle to maximize the support from your jawbone. All-on-4, due to a reduced number of implants, can make the healing process faster and more comfortable.

Trefoil ™

The Trefoil is yet another product that comes from Nobel Biocare. The Trefoil system only requires the placement of three implants, which attach to a pre-manufactured titanium bar that is capable of supporting a full-arch restoration. This makes it possible for even more people to qualify for implant treatment.

Complete Fixed Bridge

A complete fixed bridge is used to replace an entire arch of missing teeth. Before your surgery, we may need to extract any remaining, problematic teeth. Most complete fixed bridges require a minimum of six to eight implants per arch.

Partial Fixed Bridge

A partial fixed bridge is an excellent alternative to a traditional bridge or a partial denture. The bridge consists of a series of pontics, or false teeth, that are supported by dental implants. Typically, we place an implant for each missing tooth. If this is not possible, we may suspend a pontic between two implant posts.

Overdentures

An overdenture is another full-arch restoration that can be supported by dental implants. An overdenture consists of prosthetic teeth that are set in an acrylic, flesh-colored base that rests on the gums. An implant-supported overdenture is a great alternative to traditional dentures or even implant-retained dentures.

Bone Grafting

If your bone is too thin or too soft, it may impede the process of osseointegration. During osseointegration, the implant post and your jawbone fuse together to form a powerful bond. This bond allows the implant post to serve as the root component of a prosthetic tooth. Without osseointegration, implant failure will occur.

A bone graft can improve the quality and quantity of your jawbone, allowing you to qualify for implant treatment. We may also recommend a bone graft to help you maintain a more youthful facial structure.

Sinus Lift

A dental implant needs a solid foundation of bone to support it, and bone loss is a common issue when teeth have been missing for a significant period of time. When bone loss occurs in the upper premolar or molar areas the sinus can fill in the gap left by the receding bone. No harm is caused by the sinus filling in the gap left by receding bone, but if dental implants are desired a sinus lift may be necessary.
