What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant consists of a titanium post that will pose as your new tooth root. The implant is surgically placed into your jawbone underneath your gum line. The next part of the dental implant is the abutment, which will screw into the implant, and will hold the third piece, the dental crown, in place. Receiving dental implants is a permanent tooth replacement option. It is important to understand, however, it is process. A dental implant restoration will take several appointments over a number of months. After the dental implant has been placed into the jawbone, it will take time to fuse, a term referred to as “osseointegration,” into the bone. You will then come back in for another appointment to receive the abutment and the crown. Dental implants are a great, permanent, tooth replacement option. They can be customized depending on if you have only one missing tooth or many.
Single Tooth Dental Implants
As the name states, a single tooth implant is a single implant, used to replace just one missing tooth.
Multiple Tooth Dental Implants
If you have multiple missing teeth, we will use a multiple tooth implant, which uses multiple implants to replace the missing teeth.
The All-on-4® Treatment Concept
The All-on-4 Treatment Concept is unique, in that it has just four dental implants onto which the replacement teeth are mounted. The entire process for traditional dental implants can take several months, sometimes up to an entire year. The All-on-4 process is much shorter, and can be completed within just a few days. No bone grafts or other procedures are needed with the All-on-4 Treatment Concept.
